abstract

  • The following paper aims to show the strategies that have been implemented by Grupo Volswagen de México to reduce the impact generated by their two manufacturing factories located in Mexico to the environment. The first of them, and largest in terms of infrastructure, workforce, complexity and productivity between both, is located in Puebla State, in its capital Puebla City. This factory produces a variety of vehicles that are commercialized at the domestic and global market. The second factory is located in Silao, a city in Guanajuato State, this factory is mainly engaged in the manufacture of engines, which are distributed later to different manufacturing complexes around the world to be assembled in bodyworks there. At first instance, will be described the overall strategy with the respective scopes stablished by the Directives. After that, it continues to break down each one of the sub-strategies, explaining and relating them in context, taking this way, step by step, how they built a widely recognized identity campaign by both the workforce and market players. Finally, gather some relevant numerical data to quantify the reduction of environmental impact that will be reflected in economic savings for the company.
