The present research project has the objective of analyzing, through Alexander Wendt’s Constructivist theory, the construction of the European Union’s foreign policy, which created a European identity that had effects over Colombia through the Peace Labs. The creation of such identity was conditioned by the appropriation of certain mechanisms inside its foreign policy, as development aid and preventive diplomacy. Therefore, the European identity affects Colombia through the Peace Labs, using mechanisms such as alternative economics activities and sources of incomes and work, substitution of illicit plantings, transfer of technological and administrative knowledge, support to peace processes within the society, institutional enforcement and civil participation.
