  • The organizational death is a process that has been taking place in companies of different industries nationwide. The causes are various external factors that impact directly the operations and structure of them. In fact it is important to take into account that there are different types of organizational death and for purposes of this study were found important to reference, as they are part of the case analysis about Almacenes Éxito S.A. belonging to the retail sector, where they sought to determine what was the type of death that had, as a result of the sale of shares to the French Company Casino Guichard-Perrachon S.A. In addition to the theoretical framework used, it was found important to make a historical overview of the different companies that have integrated the mentioned sector in order to understand potential generalities that have been replicated and which have led to the death of important business companies. This work allows an understanding of the different changes that may have economic entities throughout their business life, not just what can be understood as the cessation of operations but also openness to new strategies for growth and expansion.
