Introduction: Hypovitaminosis D is one of the most significant and important nutritional deficiencies in adults. It’s prevalence and associated factors in emergency physicians in Bogotá, Colombia, are unknown. In this population would be expected a low prevalence of vitamin D deficiency, because they live in a tropical country and know the risk factors associated with this condition. Objective: The purpose was to identify the association between sociodemographic, environmental and nutritional factors and hypovitaminosis D in emergency physicians of a clinic in Bogotá, Colombia. Type of Study: cross-sectional analysis study which determined, over total population, the serum levels of 25-Hydroxyvitamin D in 44 physicians of the Fundación Clínica Shaio and evaluated associated sociodemographic, environmental and nutritional factors. Results: It was found a high prevalence of hypovitaminosis D (73%). However, none statistically significant association was found with the analyzed factors. It is necessary to carry out complementary studies to evaluate more factors and include more subjects.
