Mecanismos de transmisión de información de los indígenas wayuu: un estudio sobre los municipios de Uribia, Manaure, Maicao y Riohacha en el año 2021
Thesis
The adaptation of technological mechanisms by indigenous communities is presented as an opportunity to appropriate external communication methods that favor the social life that surrounds them. Thus, the wayuu indigenous group is no stranger to these dynamics and, faced with the coexistence with other cultures, they have opened themselves to the implementation of technological means to communicate. Given the characteristics of the semi-desert territory and the distance between them, the implementation of ICTs in the methods of information transmission and communication of this population group presents itself as a challenge. Although, given the current biosafety situation due to Covid-19, the community’s efforts to appropriate new channels for its own communication have been accelerated. With the aim of identifying the mechanisms for the transmission of information of the Wayuu community and, above all, the impact of the adoption of ICTs, especially in the municipalities of Uribia, Manaure, Maicao, and Riohacha, In 2021, journalists and community leaders were interviewed in this paper. Thus, the adoption of ICTs is presented as a channel to strengthen communicative methods specific to the community.
