This paper aims to determine the motivating factors for workers in the construction industry in Colombia, taking as example a population of employees of the city of Pasto, Colombia. Initially scientific papers conducted in various countries that refer to the effects of motivators, demotivating, intrinsic and extrinsic characteristics that affect work performance was reviewed. In this way, the factors are identified that form the basis of the instrument “Study Of Motivators And Demotivators Affecting The Performance Of Employees In The Construction Industry – Questionare” delivered to 190 employees. The results were classified by SPSS statistical software.
