abstract

  • The prolapse of the pelvic floor is an entity that occurs in at least 40% to 60% of women throughout their lives. Currently handling has evolved from the use of autologous tissue to prolapse repair to the application of prosthetic materials including stand polypropylene meshes whose use is supported by the Food and Drug Administration - FDA. Globally, there have been various studies in patients with pelvic floor prolapse in which there has been a use of mesh for the correction. The results of the evaluations indicate the occurrence of outcomes, including highlights recurrence disease, exposure of the mesh and vaginal infections, among others. In the current literature there is no data available in Colombia about this subject and there have been very few studies conducted in Latin America. The purpose of this project is to show the impact of surgery on quality of life in the patients who underwent vaginal mesh colpopexy surgery at the University Hospital Mayor - Mederi. Similarly, it is intended to assess urinary incontinence by using a survey.
