abstract

  • Considerations regarding the role of narratives in Colombian foreign policy have been little explored, especially if they concern terrorism and peace. For that reason, this research seeks to answer the question: how were the narratives of terrorism and peace carried out in Colombian foreign policy between 2002 and 2018? The intention is to delve into the international narrative carried out by presidents Álvaro Uribe Vélez and Juan Manuel Santos. To this end, narrative strategies are analyzed based on the Foreign Policy Analysis and its focus on the human decision making. This research makes use of the qualitative methodology having as a central source of information the international speeches delivered by both presidents and the theoretical approach of Foreign Policy Marketing.
