The main purpose of this article is to expose the relationship between leadership and women, taking into account social, labor and cultural variables, analyzing the obstacles that women have in the professional and social spheres. In the same way, the cultural beliefs and prejudices against women and the limitations that little by little have been overcome are analyzed. On the other hand, the types of leader and the existing influences of the gender and the innate features of the personality that define the styles of transactional and transformational leadership are contrasted. In consideration of the above, consequently, the key aspects that differentiate female from male leadership are specified, in order to achieve a categorization of style and gender that is more profiled towards correct and optimal leadership.
