Objective: To evaluate prospectively the degree of sexual dysfunction in patients with urinary incontinence before and after treatment with tension free suburethral tape by PISQ-12 questionnaire validated in SpanishMaterials and Methods: Analytical observational study of before and after. 60 sexually active women were selected with some degree of sexual dysfunction from April 2014 until March 2015, diagnosed with urinary incontinence, scheduled for placement of suburethral transobturator tension free tape in the Hospital Universitario Mayor Méderi. Most of the patients had some degree of pelvic organ prolapse and required surgical correction associated with the tape. All patients responded PISQ-12 questionnaire before and six months after the procedure. Results: The mean age was 48 ± 4. 58 years. The degree of genital prolapse more frequently associated was the stage II by POP-Q 55. 0% (n = 33). 96. 7% (n = 50) of patients required surgical correction of genital prolapse in addition to the placement of the suburethral. In the presurgical evaluation, sexual dysfunction was distributed as follows: 70% Severe, 18. 3% Moderate and 11. 7% Mild. After 6 months postoperatively a statistically significant change was found in the degree of sexual dysfunction: 41. 5% Moderate and Mild 58. 2% where no patient was classified with severe dysfunction (p < 0. 001 non parametric Wilcoxon test)Discussion and Conclusion: Patients who had severe sexual dysfunction obtained major change in the degree of sexual dysfunction after the sub-urethral tape (p < 0. 001 Kruskal Wallis).
