  • Democratization who knows Latin America since the nineties of the last century, the weakening of dogmatic Marxism, the end of the cold war and the presence of new social actors in the political arena have altered the traditional balance of power in the region. Since then they have begun to develop new social movements such as human rights, indigenous groups, gender, etc.., Which has favored the left-center formations. Thus, a wave of leftist parties and movements has been expanding in Latin America. The electoral victory of leftist leaders in successive formations countries is the clearest expression of this dynamic.
