abstract

  • System and model optimization has become one of the most important factors when we are looking for a better efficiency of a process. This concept is not strange to school bus transport, which is a changing environment that adjusts to its customers’ changing needs, and that holds an important responsibility towards their users (the children that use this service) in terms of time and security service fulfillment, as it must look forward to reduce cost of operation. This project exposes the problems found in The English School on this area and proposes a simple optimization model that will obtain clear improvements in time and cost indicators, in which way it will generate benefits for the organization in their profit and customer service perception. With the model implementation, we will be able to identify common mistakes of the process, and come up with basic solutions easily applicable to the school transportation model to expose the results obtained in the sample defined to develop this project.
