  • The research embodies all the theoretical concepts of the Security Complex Theory, explaining them in detail for a better understanding of the research. After this it is explained how the security strategy of Costa Rica works, and shows the most important historical moments that moulded the strategy applied today. Afterword, the research explains how the central American subcomplex is formed and establish the security dynamics within the structure. Finally it combines the results of the subcomplex with the costarican strategy, showing how effective or not this strategy was within the subcomplex.
