The purpose of this case study is to make a comparison between Brazil and Colombia, about the framework of its major role in UNASUR, in the case of Brazil from 2007 to 2011 and in the case of Colombia from 2010 to 2014. The foregoing examines the decision-making of these countries, for the implementation of the major UNASUR proposals on security, economy and culture, with reference to the category of regional nationalism. This in order to analyze the extent to which the marked differences of their regional nationalisms have influenced decision-making in regional integration frameworks such as UNASUR
