The following paper is a prospective study of the future sceneries that the Colombian SMEs will face after the implementation of the Free Trade Agreement with the United States. At first, a contextualization is made about what this business sector represents for the country, the impact that it has on the Colombian economy and how has been its development throughout time.Subsequently to the theoretical review it is implemented the methodology defined for the prospective analysis, in which, through the participation of experts and the application of the study, is possible to identify key variables that influence this business sector, variables that after are transform in structural problems to which solutions are proposed and from where future hypothesis are obtained.Later applying each of the stages of the prospective methodology, the bet scenery for the system is identified for which different strategies and activities are design so it becomes possible throughout time. Ensuring through these actions the perdurability of this business sector.
