The goal of this study is to propose a better way of managing the solid organic waste produced by the poultry farm La Rosita, located in La Mesa de los Santos, Santander. To do so a general description of the farm is carried out as well as one of its waste production. With an approximate production of 160 tons of poultry manure per month, it is proposed the implementation of a biodigestor which processes this manure and convert it into electricity and heat, available for the farm’s self-supply. Two types of biodigestor are conceptually and financially analyzed. Finally, according to the needs of the farm, one of the two option will be chosen for its potential implementation.
