The following dissertation studies a company visited during a business mission in France and the Netherlands, from the 25th of April to the 4th of May, 2017. This mission was called multisector, for several companies in different economic sector were visited, mainly from the tertiary sector of services and commerce. The company analyzed is the expansion of the Port of Rotterdam, better known as Maasvlakte II, carried out following a principle of sustainability, without affecting the port’s capacity to handle the same volume of merchandise. The proposals and strategies to guarantee environmental, economic and social sustainability are studied. The focus is on how they are implemented and maintained over the years, guaranteeing the port’s competitive advantage and leadership in Europe.
