abstract

  • The Arab-Israeli conflict is among the oldest in the world, which is why it is important to know some of the reasons why this conflict has failed to overcome. In this case will be studied how the Hamas discourse succeeds influencing in the prolonging of the conflict. To determine how the discourse is able to make an influence, a three chapters division is made. The first chapter defines the elements which are characteristic of their discourse. In this case the elements are anti-Semitism, nationalism and irredentism, wich are present in all discourses and in their founding charter. A second part seeks to determine how the discourse turns into reality, becoming tangible through terrorist attacks by the armed wing of Hamas known as Ezzedine Al-Qassam.In the final chapter is determined how the discourse becomes a decisive factor in prolonging the conflict and how are affected both of the Israeli and the Palestinian population. On the other hand, the chapter seeks to show how the discourse of Hamas influence at different levels (individual, community, bilateral and international). Finally is established how the discourse of Hamas and the life experiences of Israelis and Palestinians make up the perfect scenario for the extension of the conflict.
