abstract

  • Competitiveness is a broad concept, which has been applied to different branches of academia, for this purpose providing a single definition is not the most precise, since its conceptualization varies according to the perspective from which it is being studied. Despite the myriad of applications that this concept encompasses, business competitiveness is a topic that nations, companies and individuals are continually evaluating in order to improve in this matter and obtain a position in relation to global competitiveness. Colombia is a country endowed with many geographical, social and cultural advantages, but due to contexts and environmental factors it has not managed to be competitive enough in terms of international business. From the systemic competitiveness approach, some factors that negatively affect the country's performance were identified and analyzed. At the end, potential action plans were evaluated that would serve to mitigate these negative effects and enhance the country's competitiveness in international business.
