abstract

  • The town of Usme, a former municipality of Cundinamarca, and since 1954 part of Bogotá, has been experiencing an increasingly intense urbanization process. For this reason, some inhabitants seek social resources, repertoires of action and discourse, with the aim of mitigating the transformation of the rural to urban territory. This project will address two specific cases: the village of Los Soches, and the archaeological find at the farm El Carmen, in which, collectively, various people have mobilized, to prevent it from being built in rural lands and to ensure that these spaces are recognized. as environmental, cultural and patrimonial reserves of the sector and of the city of Bogotá. This research will use an ethnographic methodology, based on the use of two main tools: in-depth interviews and participant observation.
