abstract

  • This project analyzes and geo-references the supply and demand of venues for youth initiatives for young people between 14 and 28 years old in Bogotá D.C.. This analysis allows obtaining, in detail, information regarding which Zonal Planning Units (UPZ) and Localities of the city of Bogota suffer from greater needs regarding the supply of initiatives for young people. It also makes it possible to cross-check the information with the number of young people who need these initiatives. To achieve this objective, first the information of the youth initiative sites throughout Bogotá D.C. is collected, which is classified according to the analysis categories proposed in the Inclusive Employment Model for Vulnerable Populations. Likewise, it is georeferenced through a code developed in Python in order to determine to which UPZ and locality each venue belongs. Secondly, the data from the Multipurpose Survey 2017 is systematized to find the number and distribution of young people who need these initiatives in each UPZ and locality in Bogotá D.C. With this information, correlations are then performed, with the objective of describing more precisely the behavior of supply and demand. Finally, with the information collected, a Power BI visualization is created that allows to easily and interactively observe the territories to be prioritized through maps and statistics. It is found that, broadly speaking, the supply of services responds to the demand on the part of young people. However, this is not the case in the localities of Bosa, Ciudad Bolivar and Kennedy. As well as in the UPZ Patio Bonito, La Flora and Corabastos.
