In 2010, the government of Canada launched his strategy “Statement on Canada´s Arctic Foreign Policy” in which it recognizes that the Arctic is one of the foreign policy priorities of the Stephen Harper´s government. From the theoretical perspective of the neoclassical realism this research analyze why the national security and the economic development are the principal interests of this Government in the Arctic zone.
