abstract

  • This work traces the treatment given to categories Physical Activity and Body Image categories in selected scientific texts of the area of health; reviews the relationship between categories and examines whether these texts are addressed from the perspective of the social determinants of health or the approach of the Social Determination of the Health, using the equity category as a parameter and exploring the implications of this. His epistemological paradigm is the social construction of knowledge and methodological axis content analysis. The results show an incipient construction of categories, a different relationship between them and the prevalence of social determinants approach in academic texts. Finally, the paper explores the practical implications by analyzing contents of two WHO documents. It is concluded that in practice this reflects the differences in approach.
