abstract

  • Nowadays, the Colombian agricultural sector is not very productive and efficient compared to the rest of the world; therefore, the country continues to be insufficient at the competitive level in its export offer. This is mainly since agricultural production in Colombia is expensive compared to other producing countries. The lack of innovation and technology are some of the main reasons for these costs. Mi Cultivo is a company with more than 30 years in the agricultural inputs sector in the department of Boyacá, which decides to open a new line of business focused on agricultural machinery. Through Mi Cultivo, this project seeks to generate greater productivity and competitiveness in the agricultural sector, specifically in the potato production process, through the import and marketing of German agricultural machinery Grimme. For this, this project plans to develop the business model for this new line: Specifying and defining suppliers, import times, customs requirements, cost determination, demand determination, marketing mix and other factors, to define how the new one will operate business line. Thanks to this project, the aim is to finish with problems such as lack of labor, excess costs and improvement of production quality. This through the access of farmers to agricultural machinery, which allows to technify the production process.
