abstract

  • In this paper, it is intended to approach from the philosophy, based on the thesis of the radical evil exposed by Immanuel Kant and the banality of the evil of Hannah Arendt, to an interpretation on the nature of the problems of coexistence, which appear in many Colombian institutions and that are related to citizen education directly. Taking into account that these theories are focused on structural causes and the motivations that are part of human nature and not merely the agents involved, the following thesis arises:Recognizing that there is a propensity of the human being to evil, it is also indispensable to consider the weight of authority with the force that exerts on the thinking and behavior of the subjects, which on most occasions are tempted to leave aside Moral judgment, to act in accordance with that pressure by obeying. Therefore, it is a duty of educational institutions to encourage the formation of moral character, to strengthen participation in the construction of negotiated laws through school government, to avoid authoritarianism, blind obedience and moral disconnection, fostering pluralism in a democratic environment whose axis must be the action of a critical subject to undermine the radical evil and the banality of the evil.
