abstract

  • In search of organizations adaptability to survive and grow against changes, as well as the business strategy´s formulation and revision for decision-making, exploration and interpretation of the environment, its elements and dynamics, have become a pressing need. In this context, one of the tools enables organizations to improve sectorial vision is the Structural Analysis of Strategic Sectors methodology (hereinafter AESE by its acronym in Spanish). This vision is built from methodology´s application and is derived from analysis and synthesis processes. In a similar way, the lack of uniformity in the current world, the number of factors impacting organizational performance and interactions complexity that take place in strategic sectors, lead to finding a new approach to understand and intervene them. This, because it is clear that from analytical thinking not multiple interactions in strategic sectors, nor its permanent variance or circular processes that occur in them are contemplated, so the view provided is considered limited for understanding reality and leading business managers in strategic decision making.By contrast, the use of systems thinking in sectorial study enables understanding sectors as systems, their design, structure (relationships) and performance (dynamic) to get an overview to intervene them. Among the benefits provided by systems thinking (dynamic system) application is the ability to simulate a dynamic model to determine the strategic sectors future´s and guide organizations to define aligned policies with the pursuit of perdurability. Then, the present investigation aims to establish theoretical, conceptual and methodological issues associated with strategic decision making and systems thinking (dynamic systems) that contribute to Systemic Study of Strategic Sectors (hereinafter ESSE by its acronym in Spanish) methodology´s construction.
