abstract

  • The objective for this research was based on analizing the relationship between the changes in the peseant survival strategies of the rural household at the Toquilla Paramo and the optimization of the Cusiana vial corridir in the Aquitania municipality in the deparment of Boyacá between 1993 and 2017. An ethnographic and qualitative study was chosen to reach the main objetive, using the new ruralities's focus as a framework for the analysis of the scenario. The results of this research shows how the development of the Transversal del Cusiana 'Ruta 6211' (main road between Cundinamarca, Boyacá and Casanare) brought a series of transformations to the tradicionals productive practices for the people in this region, added to the effects in the food accessibility for this community and the implementation of multiple activities different from the tradional ones. In short, the Toquilla Paramo is debated between in the urban and rular scenarios, with a sorrunding modernization procces predicted by the highway construction, but with the wrong idea of progress, that more than creating development caused less production for the region.
