abstract

  • Palliative Care is the area of health that focuses its therapies on patients in their final phase of life, seeking the best possible life quality; In Colombia, despite the existence of a legal framework that creates conditions for adequate patient care at this stage of life, there is a deficit in the provision of services due to the lack of a structured model of care that guides the creation of specialized centers on everything at the primary and secondary level that are articulated with what already exists at the third level. This works, through an analysis of the local environment and experiences in other countries, proposes a model focused on value and considering the integrality of the patient, as well as the possibility of alternatives to generate a costing process that is more current and allows this proposal to be sustainable. This applied project impacts the care of patients with palliative needs with the generation of a model that allows the operationalization of the existing guides and guidelines promulgated by the Ministry of Health and scientific organizations in this area of health.
