Aim: to determine the prevalence of suicidal ideation and the associated factors in avoluntary sample of 114 adult oncology patients. Method: we interviewed the patients andassess the presence of suicidal ideation (Scale for Suicide Ideation), depression (Beck’sDepression Inventory) and hopelessness (Beck’s Hopelessness Scale). Results: we foundout that the prevalence of suicidal ideation was 23, 7%, we observed high levels ofdepression and hopelessness and we also found a significant statistical correlation betweensuicide ideation and depression. Conclusion: the importance of psychological interventionin all oncology patient was confirmed.
