abstract

  • The organizations have been perceived and described by the academy as a product of the rationality, and for this reason, the management of the organizations must be done from a rational perspective. In this job, the role played by the intuition in the organizational strategic decision making process is restored. In order to accomplish this objective, first is described the “rational organization” and its implications, in second place, with the help of psychology and sociology the believed separation between rationality and intuition is proved false. Through the field-work completed and using the Dual-process models for human behavior developed in the last decade as the analysis tools, it becomes evident that the intuition plays an important and relevant part in the organizational strategic decision making process, part that has been neglected by the orthodox academy and that must be studied in order to have an integral comprehension of the organization.
