abstract

  • Nowadays, the consumption of medicines is a global concern because not all medicines are subject to medical prescription. This concern implies that their consumption depends on different sources of information such as massive advertising and advising of people, among others. This analysis was based on the advertising and the impact this has on consumers. The present analysis was divided into two categories given the relevance of the topic. The first one is the characteristics of over-the-counter medicines where it is evident how the pharmaceutical industry works, the characteristics of drugs in general and the risks of abuse this behavior. Likewise, in the second category we talked about the advertising and marketing of free sales drugs, where the high impact of advertising on the consumer was analyzed and the different restrictions that can be present in the national and international context.
