  • The work focuses mainly on organizations and dynamic levels of the population, on how social conditions can affect an organization. In this study, three important concepts within organizational ecology are worked on, these are the foundation of the organization, organizational mortality and change within the organization. At the time this paper is written (1990), most theory and research on Organizational Ecology has been done from a focus on organization and population dynamics, observing how social conditions influence foundation rates, mortality and organizational change. The emphasis is on the evolutionary dynamics of these processes and the selection processes, unlike the adaptation processes that have been studied.
