This is an initial theoretical review about cognitive behavioral therapy for the management of fibromyalgia. In order to get a description and demonstration of its evidence, a brief definition and contextualization of the fibromyalgia syndrome has been made. It is a chronic, complex and multi-determined syndrome, which significantly affects the quality of life of the people who develops it. Its management it’s equally complex. Considering this, it proceeds to make an equally brief description of the multiplicity of psychological therapies that are being used for its treatment making a greater emphasis on the cognitive behavioral therapy, demonstrating its evidence in the effective management of chronic pain and the behavior of this type of patients.
