  • For emerging countries in Latin America and the Caribbean it is necessary to determine the efficiency of its health system to generate profits to its population since the indicator of life expectancy at birth and the resources they use are from Colombia compared to their counterparts . It is evident that although Colombia have a strong economy during the analysis of the two times is maintained in the general trend of other countries and with the same indicator results. In turn it is concluded that the time change decisions of the health system were taken is a differentiating factor in the results as was the case of Costa Rica identified the best performers in the indicator relating to life expectancy at Percentage of birth and health spending as a share of gross domestic product.
