abstract

  • The present research seeks to make an approximation to the impacts generated in the Labor Reputation (LR) and in the economic results in Colombian organizations by joining the Global Compact (GC) of the United Nations (UN). In the first place, the evolution of the concepts of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) is explored. Subsequently, the results in the MERCO index of job reputation and the results of the ROA (Return On Assets) financial indicator obtained by a group of Colombian companies between 2008 and 2016 were correlated with the dates of adherence to GC and with the level of implementation of the labor principles of GC identified in its last Comunication On Progress (COP) and it is possible to establish a low positive correlation between these two indicators and the moment that the organization decides to adhere to GC. Based on the results obtained, a slight impact is inferred in these indicators, which allows highlighting as a slight benefit the adhesion to the Global Compact for a Colombian organization.
