The strategic sector study, developed in five university hospitals in the city of Bogotá D.C., presents as general objective the application of strategic sectors structural analysis methodology with the goal of knowing levels of overcrowding, opportunities for its development, analysis of market forces and level of sector attractiveness.The study concluded that the sector tends to competitive balance; there are no differentiating factors among the participants. It was detected a need to create opportunities for development that allow organizations to come out of the imitation processes in which they are immersed. Finally the study concludes by highlighting the need to strengthen relationships and alliances between competitors, providers and buyers.
