abstract

  • The cardiovascular risk, defined as the probability of an event in a given period can be determined based on a study widely used, the Framingham study. This article via a cross-sectional study is to establish the relationship between physical activity and the risk of developing coronary heart disease and diabetes mellitus in a group of drivers. At the conclusion of the study we found that the risk of a coronary event mostly under 77% of the population was found, the most significant result was evident in no more risk to 3% (low) represented by 78% of the population. However it is noteworthy that 22 workers of the total, have greater than 3% risk of developing diabetes mellitus to 8 years. Today on the impact of physical activity in the prevention and treatment of cardiovascular disease and diabetes mellitus is consistent, so it should emphasize the promotion of physical activity as a fundamental part of the therapeutic regimens for these diseases
