abstract

  • In a hyper-connected, dynamic and full of uncertainty as the current world, conventional analytical methods and models are showing their limitations. Thereby organizations require useful tools that use information technology and computer simulation modeling as mechanisms to make decisions and solve problems. One of the most recently, powerful and promising is the Agent-Based Modeling and Simulation (ABMS). Many organizations, including consulting firms, employ this technique in order to understand phenomena, making evaluation of strategies and solve problems of diverse kinds. In spite of that, it does not exist (as far as known) a situational state about ABMS and its application to organizational research. It should be noted moreover that its novelty theme, that is not a sufficiently widespread and worked in Latin America. Therefore this project pretends to elaborate a situational state about the ABMS and its impact over organizational research.
