La evolución del tratamiento del conflicto colombiano en los medios: Un estudio longitudinal sobre la construcción informativa del caso collar-bomba en El Tiempo (2000-2019)
Thesis
This paper focuses on studying the evolution of a paradigmatic case of the Colombian conflict, such as the collar-bomb case. Assuming that the journalistic coverage of this event is linked to the presidential agendas and their relationship with the FARC and that, in addition, the informative construction has a great impact on the perception of public opinion in the short term, and on the collective memory in the long term, this study aims to determine the extent to which the coverage of this case is related to the presidential terms between 2000 and 2019. To achieve this objective, a triangulation between manual content analysis and computerized content analysis based on statistical analysis of textual data is used. From the data it was possible to confirm a closeness to the respective presidential discourse in terms of news coverage. The deliberate use of words is also reflected in the associations similar to the positive and negative allusions to the internal armed conflict as well as the notions regarding the FARC.
