José O. Montes de la Barrera received the Ph.D. degree in science, technology and society from the Université du Québec à Montréal. He is currently a Professor of innovation, entrepreneurship, global business environments and qualitative methods at the School of Management, Universidad del Rosario (UR). He is a Coordinator of the Organizational Complexity Research Group, co-founder of the Observatory Colombia-OCDE and a member of the UR Innovation Center. His research, teaching and consulting interests focus on management of technological innovations, digital transformations, platform economy, startup internationalization, transitional entrepreneurship and influences of emerging technologies on new business models. Experience teaching at the undergraduate, graduate and doctoral levels (innovation, entrepreneurship, global business environment, qualitative research methods). Strong knowledge of quantitative and qualitative methods: surveys, data analysis, interviews, case studies, web content analysis, netnography and experiential research. Research involving +96 firms in 20 countries. Journal articles published in top indexed outlets and presented conferences in Brazil, Canada, Germany, Dubai, UK, Cuba and Colombia. Experience in project formulation and execution (+2M USD). Awarded with several international prizes and scholarships (+500K USD). Member or former member of AOM, EURAM, BALAS, and ACFAS.
