Karol Martínez is a physician graduated from Universidad del Rosario, with a deep interest in neuroscience, particularly in neurosurgery and translational medicine applied to neurosurgical pathologies. Her clinical experience has taken place in high-complexity settings, including emergency services, intensive care units, and surgical assistance, with a special focus on neurotrauma and the care of neurosurgical patients. She is passionate about research and has contributed to the writing of scientific articles in the field of neurosurgery, actively engaging in the advancement of knowledge. Her academic vision is complemented by a strong calling for teaching, which she views as a transformative vocation and a deeply humanistic endeavor. She firmly believes that education is a driver of social change and a powerful means to train ethical, empathetic, and committed healthcare professionals.
