This monograph seeks to establish the impact that the United Nations Organization had in State Building's process carried out in East Timor between 2002 and 2012. To do this, the basis is the concept of State Building developed by Simon Chesterman, to have the tools that allow identifying the role that the organization played in the process. It is then that the UN played a facilitating role through peacekeeping missions introduced in the territory, which managed to create institutions that led to the establishment of the democratic rule in East Timor.
