With the Organic Law of Communication in Ecuador, in 2013, the government of this country proposed the transformation of the media system, through the creation of innovative monitoring and supervision institutions, and the establishment of numerous precepts that aspire to generate greater inclusion of minorities, to promote greater diversity and, in general, to democratize access, development and dissemination of information content. This study presents the results of an in-depth interview with Ecuadorian journalists from national public and private media. The results refer to key aspects to understand the effects of the reference, the law on professionals, perceived pressure factors, through which strategies channel resistance against impositions, or how they relate to each other with the new control institutions.
