abstract

  • Since its creation, cinema has been one of the most important communicational tools for human development and has aroused an important interest within journalism. Along with it, the cinema established a reciprocal and fraternal relationship through specialized criticism, which has an important value and influence in audiences and in art that goes beyond the aesthetic valuation. In Colombia, similarly to the rest of its history, the relationship between cinema and audience has been fragmented and dispersed. The criticism of national cinema has traditionally been an exclusive and restricted activity, largely unexplored and immobile. The present work looked into that relationship between cinema and Colombian criticism, its incursion and role in the non-specialized and generalist media and its current development. For this, interviews were conducted with critics who work in Colombian media and their analysis generated a series of recommendations that seek to renew this journalistic resource to attract new audiences, creating valuable discussions for the current national journalism.
