  • Background: upper limb musculoskeletal disorders are a major cause of occupational morbidity worldwide and in our country , particularly in the floriculture sector . The development of these disorders significant costs arising from absenteeism , disabilities and consequences are derived.Objective: To determine the prevalence of upper limb musculoskeletal pathology rated source of occupational disease in workers with musculoskeletal pathology diagnosis of upper limb and its relationship to some occupational and demographic factors.Background: pathologies Methodology: Cross-sectional study in which secondary data were reviewed from a database of occupational health service between January and May 2015, corresponding to 465 workers (not administrative) indefinite term of floriculture company Bogota, including only those workers with musculoskeletal disorders of the upper limb, which had the diagnosis classification as either common occupational disease or illness and old age. 19 workers who had been relocated in new places of work and had no information to determine their activity before making the change were excluded. Sex, age, seniority and position held by the operators: The following variables were evaluated. The relationship between variables was performed using Pearson chi2 test. The magnitude of the association through OR with their respective confidence intervals of 95% was measured.Results: The study included 373 workers on fixed-term , with an average age of 39 years (SD = 5.55 ) and average seniority of 6 years ( SD = 1.15) . The 82.84 % were female . The prevalence of musculoskeletal upper limb occupational disease was 54.4 %. In the analysis of relationship between the classification of the disease, and other variables (sex, seniority , age, activity performed , location of the lesion ) ; found that: be between 40 to 49 years (OR = 1.7 ; 95% CI : 1.12 to 2.79 ) , diagnosis of sleeve ( OR = 4.45 syndrome; 95% CI : 2.48 - 8.23 ) and carpal tunnel syndrome (OR = 4.22 ; 95% CI : 2.45 - 7.41 ) were associated with occupational disease.Conclusions : The prevalence of occupational disease of musculoskeletal upper limb pathology operators of a flower growing from the Sabana de Bogota is the ( 54.4 %). Greater association with rotator cuff syndrome and occupational disease was found. No association between occupational disease and the activity performed , the exposure time , or sex worker was found.
