  • Currently, there is great concern about the generation, management and handling of hazardous waste, since it has a negative impact on public health and the environment if it is not managed correctly. In this sense, this work focuses on analyzing the management of hazardous waste - Respiration of the manufacturing sector in the city of Bogotá, taking into account that said industry represents 50% of the total generation of Respel. For this, a documentary review was carried out and the Respel Generators Registry was analyzed. It is highlighted that the Subsector of the manufacturing industry that emits the most Breathing is the Manufacture of other non-metallic mineral products. The management that they mainly give focussed on the final disposal of third parties, and only some subsectors prioritize treatment and use. In addition, the most generated hazardous waste stream is Y12 - Wastes resulting from the production, preparation and use of inks, dyes, pigments, paints, lacquers or varnishes, and the list generated are the Y29 stream - Waste that has as constituents: Mercury, mercury compounds.
