Circular economy according to the MacArthur foundation is to ensure that products, components and resources in general maintain their usefulness and value at all times. Under this idea, this work is developed, first by studying the entire theoretical framework derived from this concept, its applicability in Latin America, its actors, among others; followed by a study of eighteen cases where an analysis was developed under the variables of barriers and effects subsequent to their applicability, resulting in a series of suggestions and conclusions that Colombian industries can apply to create or strengthen a true competitive advantage linked to sustainability.
