This monograph refers to the rapid evolution of the concept of animal in recent years, as evidenced by the doctoral theses of Andrea Padilla and Mikel Torres, and the undergraduate thesis of Paula Jiménez García and Daniela Marulanda Giraldo. That is why this research seeks to verify whether or not the Colombian legal system is prepared to include new paradigms and open up to debates such as multispecies families and others that in turn lead to the development of public establishments for the care and welfare of animals, for example.
