  • Through the business-focused research of the company Banafrut S.A.S and its macro economic context, processes of interest were identified with opportunities for continuous improvement in essential activities of the operation. Banafrut S.A.S produces and markets export type bananas to several countries in Europe and the United States. Banafrut SAS provides security for its customers thanks to compliance with the quality standards established in the consumption requirements, however the manual and rustic processes currently carried out by the company make it impossible for the operation to achieve production volumes with which it can compete with the market global. During the visit to the farm “La Chavela”, the place of production of Banafrut, it was identified that several of the fundamental operations are bottlenecks, which is why under the concepts of logistics and process analysis recommendations are given that seek to improve productivity of the most critical process identified. Thanks to the process flows made based on the times provided by the staff of the “La Chavela” farm, it was possible to determine which are the most critical procedures, emphasizing the process that generates more value for the client and in turn be modified quickly and without major investment or effort for Banafrut SAS On the other hand, the project emphasizes the importance of export-type banana production for Colombia thanks to the analysis of the macro-economic context of banana exports, thus concluding that the purpose of the project is to generate improvements in one of the companies that continue to produce for one of the strongest industries in the country.
