  • Colombia in 2002 developed a Green Business project, which was led by the Ministry of the Environment, in which it was, analyzed how feasible it would be to adapt a methodology that, aimed at the communities of the departments of Santander, Choco, Nariño, Putumayo and The Amazonas. In this sense, the green business program was created to focus on the problems of disproportionate exploitation that was generating problems in the environment and how it could support business initiatives that as a result of their activity generated positive environmental, social and economic impacts . The department of the Amazonas for its natural wealth is an ideal scenario to boost bio-commerce and green businesses. At present, a total of 43 business initiatives in this department belonging to the category of goods and services from natural resources are registered in the CORPOAMAZONIA database ,of which about 82% belong to the bio-commerce sector, according to the classification of the Ministry of Environment and Sustainable Development. It is necessary to analyze the current situation of these bio-commerce and green business initiatives, in order to have an overview of the impact that the implementation of this type of entrepreneurship has had in the territory, for this the study is oriented under the premise of the mixed approach, since that the design of the MADS Green Business Matrix instrument for the measurement of initiatives, includes qualitative elements that are combined with quantitative indicators, in the end what is intended is to analyze the panorama of these initiatives through their characterization and the perception of the green markets
